» Taste of Runway: Food is fashion?
Stumbled upon this little blog that posts dishes/recipes inspired by runway looks. Roasted tomato and goat cheese hot crostini inspired by Celine, or cream of pumpkin and leek soup inspired by Dolce and Gabbana.
It’s a little ridiculous, but I do like the idea of fashion making people want to have or share a nice meal. And either way, it all looks quite delicious.

» Prints Charming: Dries Van Noten
Thanks to Stacy for sending this to me!
I’m a huge fan of Dries Van Noten’s work, especially his refined use of color and prints. I also respect the fact that he is an independent designer with full creative control of his brand (even though there have been a few misses in his last few seasons, which broke my heart a little). He is easily in my top 3 designers list, and this new project of his makes me giddy. This, more than ever, shows the man’s ability to make wearable art in the most subtle, nuanced way.
Click the link above and see what I mean. I love you, Dries!

HAHAHAHA this is really one of my favorite Kingsley videos. Aside from the fact that, as a thicker girl, I completely agree, this entire spiel (specifically the “your skin should not be in pain” part onwards) KILLS me. :))

I have no idea why, but I’ve gotten a few messages asking about my make-up stash, so here’s a sneak peek. I love lipsticks the most, and I’m ridiculous enough to spend an afternoon at home, in grubby shorts and a bright pink mouth. (The photo doesn’t do it justice; that bin is wider and is lined with two layers of tubes.)
I’m pretty OC about my beauty products, so I like to make sure they’re in bins that keep things neat but allow me to toss things around when I’m in a rush.
I’m also constantly editing and fixing my makeup, the reason being that I don’t like hanging on too long to something that I don’t actually use. (Which is why my friends love my clean-up seasons, because they get all my barely-used stuff!)
Hope that answers some questions! <3

Although I’ve loved Madonna all my life, Ray of Light was a significantly influential album on me. Last year, I had a Madonna-themed karaoke fest for my birthday, wherein we all dressed up and paid homage to the queen:

(L-R: Stacy as Human Nature Madonna, me as Nothing Really Matters Madonna, and Ina as Ray of Light Madonna)
So it’s only fitting that I post this today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE QUEEN MOTHER, MADONNA! You are forever fierce, forever fabulous, and the bare definition of the word “icon.” ♥

Garance Doré’s photos of the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Met. So beautiful and moving in photos, I can’t even imagine how amazing this must be to witness and absorb in person. One can dream. Long live McQueen. ♥
